A little plein air from November in Faulkner County.  I took a new bunch of paintings up to Ellen Hobgood Gallery in Heber Springs that day and got in a little painting along the way.

Completed in 2016 so this also does not count towards the 50 in 2017.

This is a little plein air I did a few months ago as the fall color started to come on.  This was on the Illinois Bayou in the Ozark National Forest north of Hector.

Here's another transfer from my other blog.  I hope to get all of the content moved over to here soon so I can shut that one down.

I enjoy painting leaves. They are, however, more difficult than they look. These particular leaves started curling shortly after I began the painting. By the time I was done, the color had faded from nice red to the much more dull orange and the one on the right had curled almost double upon itself.

This one is from a few years back but I still like it.  I had posted it to my other blog but I am going to slowly work to phase that out and delete it eventually. Sometimes, I get on a still life kick in the fall.  I didn't happen this year because I was so intent of completing the works from my southeast Arkansas trip.  These three leaves were from maple tree on the trail behind our house. I just couldn't resist trying to get these colors down.

There are some things I see here I would like to get back into my current work.

My first new county of 2013!  1 down, 19 to go.

Gunner Pool is in the Ozark National Forest near Blanchard Springs Caverns.  It was a crisp fall morning when we got there that turned into a warm day.
